Neither TGC nor PG has gone down that road, so I don't see either product being similar to what made TW stand out.If you want to play golf with the best, you need the best golf game. Yes, you could play it with a controller, but on the PC you had the mouse swing and the 3 click version. TW was both PC and consoles in its heyday (mid 2000s) and the defining characteristic of that game (beyond marketing the hell out of it with the Tiger name) was the career play and skill progression. It's essentially based on the Links model and that could never be considered "arcade golf".įrankly, I don't think either one is like TW. PG has 3D graphics, a more detailed physics system and the far more powerful CourseForge will let users create courses in very specific detail (like Links or JNSE). The mouse swing may be different (and IMO a much better approximation of real golf given that it's tempo based), but many of us are playing with the beloved 3 click swing. PG is "traditional computer gaming golf". Though not perfect (putting is fiddly, too much help in shot power, and loading screens are slow), it's still one of the best phone or handheld-based golf games I've ever. That's not necessarily a bad thing, but that's where TGC has gone with their product. Licensed by Nokia, initially just for its N8 flagship, RealGolf 2011 HD would have been well worth snapping up even if not already free. It's much more console or arcade golf than PG. If anything, the 2D graphics and controller stick based swing of TGC fits that description far more closely. That was the ultimate arcade golf game and this is nothing like that. When I think arcade golf, I think of Golden Tee. Yeah, you kind of lost me with PG being "arcade golf" because it's nothing of the sort. ![]() Originally posted by drb7:i think the golf club is more like a traditional type of golf game, with it's pure mouse swing and great dx11 graphics, i think PG is leaning towards arcade golf with it's tempo mouse swing and 2D feel graphocs, i think if your a pc golf fan you will enjoy both, but to answer the threads question i would think the golf club is more like TW and can be played with a controller ![]()
